Black and White
The image created here is the first assignment for my Visual Journalism class offered at Columbia College Chicago. Whenever I draw or sketch, I tend to contrast the hard edges of primary shapes with fluidity so I attempted to do so with this assignment. The pillars on the left side are bold and striking so I did not want to over power the eye, I originally had varying sizes of circles bouncing on the right side but this image was too convoluted. The circles seen here resemble coins and the repetition of the circle image is meant to create some fluidity that spills over into the solid striking pillars. The dashes of the last pillar is meant to create movement in the piece as if the last pillar is being blown away. My goal was to create an image showing my ability to use the shapes and tools offered in the InDesign program and also to create a fluid, eye catching design.
